Five projects selected for funding from US DoE under the CarbonSAFE initiative
/Five applications were selected for negotiations from the FOA under the CarbonSAFE initiative, which seeks to characterize storage complexes of at least 50 million metric tons and accelerate wide-scale deployment of CCUS. Read more here

Funding opportunities on Direct Air Capture (DAC)
/The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced plans to provide up to $22 million for research aimed at achieving breakthroughs in the effort to capture carbon dioxide directly from ambient air. Read more here
Elegancy Webinar Series on CCS and Hydrogen

Pre-ACT webinars
/The Pre-ACT project (www.sintef.no/pre-act) will during the spring of 2020 arrange a series of webinars summarizing important findings from nearly three years of research on topics ranging from CO2 pre-injection modelling/experimental studies and novel monitoring concepts, to conformance verification strategies, decision making guidelines, and storage case studies in the North Sea. The webinars are open to all and include a Q&A, as an efficient means of communication in times of travel/event restrictions.

Capturing CO₂ from waste-to-energy discussed in UK Parliament
/Last month, in the UK Parliament a debate was held concerning waste incineration facilities and issues of the relationship between the WtE sector and CO₂ emissions and CCS were raised. Read more here

The value of ACT Mid-term review
/The midterm review meeting for the ACT1 projects was held in the Netherlands on 11 and 12 June 2019. The meeting was a face to face evaluation moment for the large ACT granted projects (>3 M€ funding), Pre-ACT, Align-CCUS and Elegancy, after 18 months implementation. Read more here

News from the ACT2 Call for CCUS R&D Projects
/The ACT Consortium received 26 proposals that have been independently evaluated and ranked by external CCUS experts. Based on this evaluation, the ACT Consortium notified 12 projects, with a combined budget of €31 million, that they were selected to move forward with award negotiations, which is to take place this summer.
